Testing the Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses
Testers at Active Gear Review tested the Costa Del Mar Prop sunglasses with the 580 G lens in conjunction with the Costa Del Mar Tuna Alley – reviewed here. The style on the Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses is reminiscent of the 1950’s wayfarer design with a modern twist. These sporty frames come in 6 different colors with the 400 G, 580G and 580 P lens options. These glasses are equipped with a durable nylon frame and nylon integral hinge, creating a lightweight and durable frame. Testers found these sunglasses comfortable, fun and versatile. The Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses fit nicely on a small to medium size framed face and were easy to wear for long periods of time.
All of Costa’s sunglasses are made to order. Customers have the choice of 7 lens colors, each designed for specific fishing conditions. Lens are constructed of glass or plastic, both scratch resistant. All lens are 100% UV light blocking for maximum protection and 100% polarized to decrease/eliminate reflective glare to reduce strain on the eye. Costa customers also have the option for prescription lens to be placed in each of their frames – we didn’t test the Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses with prescription lenses, but this would be a nice addition.
Costa Del Mar was created in 1983 by a group of avid and adventurous fisherman who desired a sunglasses product that would support their adventures and to protect their sight. With their vision, they created what they have claimed as the “clearest sunglasses on the planet for those who live to be on the water.” Testers found that even though the Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses were created to be utilized for usage around water, these sunglasses were efficient in using in other outdoor activities as well.
The price point on the Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses begins in the $149 range and goes up dependent on frame and lens selection. Costa offers a lifetime warranty on manufactures defects as well as a hard case for each pair of sunglasses. Overall, our testers were impressed with the fit , style and comfort of Costa Del Mar Prop Sunglasses.
