Bright bluebird days are why I live in Colorado. With over 300 days of sunshine, any given day in Colorado can put a pair of sunglasses to the test. For the past two months, I have had the chance to try out the Revo Guide II Sunglasses with the Bluewater lens in the bright light conditions of Colorado and on the fly fishing flats in Florida.
Features of the Revo Guide II Sunglasses
The Revo Guide II Sunglasses feature large lenses designed to block out stray light. Each lens wraps comfortably and closely around the face blocking out sun glare. Having these oversized lensed so close made activities from skiing to ocean fishing very comfortable all day long.
The nose pad of the Revo Guide II Sunglasses is made from rubber that prevents the frames from slipping during strenuous activity and is comfortable for hours on end. As mentioned, I took these up the slopes to take advantage of some Spring powder, and they stayed put as I explored some untracked terrain.
The hinges of the Revo Guide II Sunglasses are made of plastic which is nice when fishing in saltwater. From past experience, anything made of metal will corrode and affect the look as well. I never really had to worry about spray coming off of the boat and getting on my sunglasses. These hinges were also easy to keep clean and I could remove any of the tiny bits of sand that got on them.
There are even small holes drilled in the temples of the sunglasses (the part of the sunglasses that go under your ear), and allow the attachment of a safety cord to prevent them from falling off. A handy dandy little feature that is missing most of the time. The ‘slide-over’ straps work as well, but those tend to slowly nudge off over time, and they make the temples much wider. Here, you can attach anything rope, string, shoelace, lanyard, or whatever you fancy to hang them around your neck. In addition, it will provide some peace of mind when out and about pushing yourself and your sunglasses to the limit.
The Revo Guide II Sunglasses Blue water Lens
The Bluewater lens of the Revo Guide II Sunglasses were created for sunny days on the ski slopes, fishing the open ocean, and days on the beach. There are times when regular sunglass lens just do not cut it, and I find my eyes still straining from super bright conditions. The Bluewater is heavily tinted so that I never found myself squinting when wearing them. Even though there is a considerable tint on the lens, all colors and detail still seemed to Pop Out with clarity.
The polarizing effect of the Bluewater is outstanding at cutting glare in bright conditions. I was easily able to spot cruising redfish and snook in full sun.
