The Brooks Cascadia 4 is a neutral trail runner’s dream. The Cascadia was tested both on and off the trail and tester’s raved about its’ performance in both settings. The Cascadia offers great forefoot protection against rocks and roots thanks to a ballistic rock shield composed of a thermoplastic EVA sheath between the outer and mid-soles. Testers found the shoes to be highly breathable and able to dry out quickly on rainy runs. The Cascadia provides excellent cushioning from heel to toe, thanks to Hydroflow, which helps disperse the shock of each foot strike. The Cascadia also incorporates Brooks’ patented BioMogo midsole, a great midsole that is not horrible for the environment. Testers found the traction to be excellent on slick or dry trails and feel that the Cascadia is deserving of the “Keeper” award.
