Mizuno Wave Precision 12 Running Shoe Review

Zachary Rodasti

Zach's been testing gear with Active Gear Review since day one of the site, and just generally loves being outside doing any outdoor activity. He and his wife race year round, prefer long distance endurance events, and have raced marathons in multiple states nationwide. Recently, Zach added triathlons to his list of endeavors, and has competed in all distances up to a half iron. He has two young boys who are full of energy and get into all sorts of trouble on a regular basis - just like him.

I loved the shoes out of the box but with only 200 miles on them the outer edge has completely worn through on both shoes. This is the 3rd revision of the Precision I have owned and the 1st disappointment I have had with Mizuno in 8 years. These shoes are not up to the quality I’ve come to expect from Mizuno. I have 5 year old Wave Riders in my closet I would still throw on for a run today. These are not of that ilk. OK Mizuno, you just made a lot of good moves on the Wave Rider 15, how bout sharing some of that love with the Precision line?

The wave print from your photo (demo shoes) seems to be different from the print on the shoes for sale. What’s up with that?

Howie, they changed the design because of the Tsunami in Japan.
