Giro Field Ski Goggles
Giro, based in Santa Cruz, California manufactures helmets, sunglasses, soft goods, and goggles for cycling, skiing and snowboarding. A well known player in the active world they are coming up on 30 years of innovative design.
With all that experience they have partnered with someone with over 150 years of experience. Zeiss Optics are providing the most critical piece of this goggle, the lens. The spherical dual lens by Zeiss provides for a pure and clear field of vision, as well as protection from the elements. This stylish, female specific goggle will surely impress you like it did me.

Initial thoughts on the Giro Field Ski Goggles
Giro goggles are seamlessly compatible with all Giro Helmets. There are endless color & style coordination options to suit your individual taste. I exhausted many of these goggle & helmet combinations on-line, and in the end I was relieved and pleasantly surprised when I left it up to chance by having a Giro rep decide for me. I love the vibrant color of my Pink Aloha Giro Field Ski Goggles that go great with my Matte Dynasty Green Shibori Giro Flare Ski Helmet (see review HERE).

Performance of the Giro Field Ski Goggles
There are many parts and pieces to the Field Ski Goggles. There’s only a few that really matter to me. First and foremost, is the lens and it’s ability to discern whatever a snowy or sunny day will throw at me. My first chance of taking this critical piece of skiing equipment for a test drive was on one of those typical blue bird days here in sunny Colorado. Early season ski conditions still applied, but recent storms had provided a nice base for some good turns. Protection from the suns critical rays was top priority, and the goggles made my day quite enjoyable. My Amber Gold & persimmon Blaze lens tint provided the necessary protection while giving clear vision and ability to discern the bumps and dips that is ever changing on the mountain.

Giro Field Ski Goggles
I usually feel like I have way too much equipment to keep track of when I ski. These Giro goggles are super light weight and fit right onto my helmet thus I don’t even have to think about wearing goggles. With numerous testing outings under my belt, I’ve not had any issues wearing them. They are very lightweight, worked well in a variety of conditions, and most importantly the lens never fogged up. The fit really worked well. Once I had them situated, I never had to fidget or tighten the Field. In essence, they are part of making my mountain experience the best it can be.
I suppose color isn’t really part of the performance but since I’m a girl and fashion is the way of my people I’ll fit it into the performance. The vibrant Aloha pink let’s me stand out and make a statement. I like that! These days let’s be honest we want to look good while we’re carving lines searching for untracked powder runs or cruising groomers.
Final Thoughts
The Giro Field Ski Goggles are a sweet piece of gear that will make your life on the slopes an enjoyable one. The clean aesthetic and sporty design is complemented by the spherical dual Lens by ZEISS. I am officially a fan of the this oh-so important piece of mountain equipment. I was able to focus on the beauty of my surroundings and staying safe without having to worry about not being able to see. This would be a great addition for any skier, snowboarder, backcountry adventurer, or snowmobiler.
