Tilley Tec-Wool Cap Review
With the cold weather starting to set in, many of us are starting to dig out our cold weather gear and putting our list together of what we need for the upcoming season. If it’s time to trade in your ear muffs or you just want to add an alternative style to your cold weather collection, The Tilley Tec Wool Cap may just be what the doctor ordered.
With it’s C_Change breathable technology, the Tec-Wool Cap allows heat to escape when your head starts to overheat, but it keeps the cold air out. This comes in handy if you’re exerting a lot of energy and heating up because overheating and getting sweaty when it’s cold out can be very uncomfortable when you start to cool down. If the temperatures are unbearable or the wind starts to howl and you need all the protection you can get, this hat comes with ear flaps that are tucked into the hat that you can deploy in seconds. I typically did not wear the ear flaps all the time because they looked a little goofy on me, but they do come in useful if the cold catches you by surprise.
As for some of the areas we think they can improve on the Tec-Wool Cap, I found it to be a little boxy up top. I sometimes felt like a train conductor. If you can pull off the look like the guy in the picture above though, more power to you. One of the really nice aspects of this Tilley cap is that it is guaranteed for life, which is a-typical for most hats. If you tend to lose hats and anything else that isn’t attached to you like me, there is a two year period where you can get a replacement hat for half off. In a perfect world we would like to get a new hat for free, but this policy isn’t too shabby. For more information on the Tilley Wool Tec Cap and other products by Tilley, please visit Tilley.com
