Whether you’re dropping big turns in the backcountry, running on a cold day, summiting a 14er, or trying to blend in with the crowd while in Vail, the Arcteryx Venta AR Jacket will meet your needs, and then some. The Venta AR is composed of three different Windstopper fabrics that combine to keep cold breezes from penetrating the jacket and reaching your core. The jacket is a softshell that has stretchy side-panels for enhanced breathability and reinforced shoulder and forearm layers of fabric to protect against abrasions. This jacket has welded seams with Gore seam tape and a DWR finish making it also water repellant, helping keep you dry on those snowy or light rain days in the backcountry. The Venta AR Jacket has a streamlined fit that is perfect for layering. The jacket also has added room in the shoulders for complete arm range of motion, making it a good option for climbing. We also liked the light insulation around the core and the beefier fleece around the collar, which combine to make this jacket a tad warmer when you pause during your outdoor activity. We suggest that you give the Venta AR jacket a whirl because of Arcteryx’s attention to detail and the extreme quality of their products.
