North Face Crimptastic Hybrid Jacket Review
The North Face Crimptastic Hybrid jacket not only has a great name, but it also comes with great performance. Packing 800 fill down in the Crimptastic, this jacket keeps you plenty warm in the areas you need it most. Being part of The North Face Summit Series, the Crimptastic jacket is made with the extreme athlete in mind. The jacket has stretch Polartec fleece sections on the under arm and elbow that allow the jacket to breath when in high activity adventures. This not only allows you to better regulate your body temperature better, but it also gives the jacket a much better form fit that so the jacket is in sync wtih your motion. The one downfall with the fleece section is that if you only want to use the jacket for walking around town when it’s super cold out, the breathable fleece sections can get a little cold. We were able to test this jacket out snowshoeing in temperatures between 10-30 F and we found that the jacket didn’t overheat too much as one might expect with a down jacket and we never got cold, proving its intentions for the more serious athlete. If by chance you do need to take the jacket off due to overheating, the jacket is super compressable and will not take up too much room in your pack. The jacket also comes with two external zip pockets for easy access to small food items or electronics and it also has a inside pocket to store your valuables. Overall, The North Face Crimptastic was a tester favorite and we highly suggest this down jacket wonder. For more information, please visit TheNorthFace.com
