Chums Gizmo case Initial thoughts
I just received the opportunity to test some product from Chums, a company known for their eyewear lanyards. The one I am testing is the Gizmo case although it is intended to hold whatever you want, I have a much different use for it as a mountain bike seat post bag! After finding a large hole my old one I needed a replacement and low and behold the Gizmo has a very large velcro enclosure that fits around my seat rails. It will be interesting to see if the bag stays properly attached while riding on technical terrain.

Performance
The Chums Gizmo case is a multi use bag that is strong lightweight and very versatile. I used it as a seat post bag for my Giant XTC mountain bike. I know this is quite a demanding use for this bag but I needed to find out how strong it was. I strapped it to the seat rails with its large Velcro flaps, and filled it with the tools for my ride which included a CO2 tire inflator, multi-tool and tire levers. I found a muddy snowy rutted out trail and turned loose on it. After a few minutes I checked to be sure it was still attached and found it there nice and tight. I rode with it for a couple of miles and was quite surprised to see it worked just as well as any seat post bag I have ever used. The nice part with the Gizmo is that it’s padded and would keep any electronics safe from spills that may occur on the trail. I would highly recommend this case for any use that you may have. I put it thru extreme testing and probably not its intended use but it worked quite well. It stayed tightly attached to my bike, so the Chums Gizmo met my expectations.

Final Thoughts
I wasn’t sure how I was going to test this case, but soon realized that the Chums Gizmo Case would be perfect for mountain biking. It was easy to attach, stayed put throughout, and most importantly, did not bounce or sway around. The large Velcro enclosures are strong, and the zippers stay closed even when the trail rattled me to the bone. I highly recommend this case for any adventure you may have, and you can trust me that your contents in the Gizmo will be safe and sound!
