The North Face makes more than great jackets and ski gear, what we typically review on this site. They also dip into water sports a touch with some of their products. The Women’s Pacas L/S Water Top is a prime example of this versatility. The Pacas L/S Water Top is a no nonsense, fast drying water top that packs sun protection and fashion into a small package.
The Pacas L/S Water top is available in sizes XS to XL. I tested out a size medium and felt that based on the size guide that it ran true to size. The arms were plenty long and kept my wrists covered form the sun, while the waist was also plenty long to keep the mid section covered. Water tops are designed for pretty close fit and I felt that it was tight enough through the arms and shoulders and a little more roomy through the torso. The Pacas features a board short connector loop to prevent the top from moving around while on the go. I didn’t use this much because I wore the top primarily when doing SUP (stand up paddle).
The Pacas L/S Water Top is available in Baja Blue (featured above in both photos) and bright white (photo below). The top features a waved version of The North Face’s well known half dome on the chest for a bit of style. Some may think that the blue color would make you hotter than the white color, however I did not find this the case thanks to the highly breathable and fast drying polyester and elastane interlock jersey fabric combo. As a bonus, the top features a UPF 30 rating as well. The Pacas is also available in a short sleeve version (available in black only). The Pacas L/S Water Top retails for $50 and is an item I was thankful for on our recent beach get away to help protect the skin from some of the harsh afternoon rays.
